What’s been happening:

30 years: We are all in this place together. Hawaii-Waimanalo is home, and I cherish all she shares. Beautiful ocean, mountains, rainbows, breezes, islands, music, spirit. Sustainability has immediate meaning for islands, visited by so many. My years are filled with amazing friends, family, colleagues and people I have yet to meet. Much camping and many vacations with friends to fun and gorgeous places. With a BA in social welfare & a Masters in social work, I have been so fortunate to work hard to achieve missions that I believe in, passionately. Improving the criminal justice system as a victim-witness advocate and by teaching college courses, establishing the first battered women support groups on O'ahu with a colleague and meeting with our community and policy-makers for a system more responsive to survivors of sexual assault, advocating for women and girls as the executive director of the Hawaii Commission on the Status of Women & serving on our Honolulu County Committee, leading coalitions & volunteering to prevent violence, conducting research, and since 1996, working for the Office of Hawaiian Affairs-with 5 years in Washington, DC-advocating with Native Hawaiians for justice and better conditions, most recently seeking passage of the Native Hawaiian Government Reorganization Act in US Congress. Email Congress to pass S. 1011/H.R. 2314. Aloha kakou.
